Our Commitment

Homestay Santa Monica is committed to keeping our hosts and students as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have implemented a number of policies and procedures to ensure your health and safety.

Procedure

Homestay Santa Monica is requiring all students entering into their homestay to provide us with their Negative PCR test via email to info@homestaysantamonica.com prior to their arrival to their homestay.

Homestay Santa Monica is requesting that students and hosts follow guidelines as provided by officiating bodies (i.e. quarantining 7-14 days upon arrival to homestay and continued masking in public spaces.

Homestay Santa Monica is also requesting documentation from students and host families regarding vaccination.

Policies

As a student or host, you acknowledge the contagious nature of the COVID-19/Coronavirus and that the CDC and many other public health authorities still recommend practicing social distancing.

While Homestay Santa Monica has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of the COVID-19/Coronavirus, you acknowledge that Homestay Santa Monica cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with the COVID-19/Coronavirus. You understand that the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by the COVID-19/Coronavirus may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself and others, including, but not limited to, staff, host families, students, other clients, and their families.

By hosting or using homestay services, you voluntarily seek services provided by Homestay Santa Monica and acknowledge that you are increasing your risk to exposure to the COVID-19/Coronavirus. You acknowledge that you must comply with all set procedures to reduce the spread while using homestay services and/or hosting.

Agreement to disclose

Homestay Santa Monica requests that you disclose if you are experiencing the following symptoms and disclosures so we can ensure the safety of all parties:

  • cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
  • have not traveled internationally within the last 14 days – if so, you will self-quarantine in your homestay and follow CDC recommendations or stay in outside accommodations until you have self-quarantined for the recommended CDC duration.
  • have not traveled to a highly impacted area within the United States of America in the last 14 days.
  • do not believe you have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of the COVID-19/Coronavirus.
  • have not been diagnosed with COVID-19/Coronavirus and not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities.
  • are following all CDC recommended guidelines as much as possible and limiting my exposure to the COVID-19/Coronavirus.

Waiver

You hereby release and agree to hold Homestay Santa Monica harmless from, and waive on behalf of yourself, your heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage or loss to myself and/or property that may be caused by any act, or failure to act of Homestay Santa Monica, or that may otherwise arise in any way in connection with any services received from Homestay Santa Monica. You understand that this release discharges Homestay Santa Monica from any liability or claim that you, your heirs, or any personal representatives may have against Homestay Santa Monica with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, or property damage that may arise from, or in connection to, any services received from Homestay Santa Monica. This waiver and release extends to Homestay Santa Monica together with all owners, partners, employees, students, and host families.
